Testimonials
I have been welcomed with so much kindness and compassion into the gallery and it has made my experience in Kathmandu one I will remember forever. The in depth explanations of the Nepalese Thanka and its meaning to the people has inspired me in learning, and hopefully-to practice one day. I have experienced many conversations about Buddhist Philosophy and what it means to view an authentic Thanka, and to feel its true power and energy. It has been a real pleasure meeting everyone, learning and being treated like family. I look forward to keeping in contact with the academy, and hopefully to one day organize a partnership with Australia, and spread the light and beauty of this ancient art around the western world. Namaste.

ALTERNATIVE WAYS TO SUPPORT:-
As stated on the home page,Lama have been working at The Old Tibetan Thangka Academy for 4 years. Both have studied the ancient tradition of Thangka painting and are masters in their field of work. We would like to suggest to you, if you would like to show your support by learning about the Thangka, and practicing this amazing art form. In doing this, your proceeds are directed back in to RDO and the rural communities of Nepal. Through doing this, you are supporting RDO and learning a tradition that few are lucky enough to learn. You will learn the philosophy behind Thangka painting and the many techniques of sketching and painting the Thangka. This is a great opportunity for all whom are interested. Please follow the link to The Old Tibetan Thangka Painting Academy for more details about Thangka painting: http://www.lamathanka.com Please see below for the application/enrolment form for Thangka painting. Namaste.
